Company Sick Pay
Team members who have been employed for one full year are eligible to receive a maximum of 5
days Company Sick Pay (CSP) in any rolling twelve-month period. These days are paid at 80% of
average weekly earnings.
Payment made will be conditional upon you following this policy and procedure and meeting the
eligibility requirements. This Company Sick Pay entitlement is inclusive of Statutory Sick Pay. Part
time workers entitlement will be adjusted pro-rate in line with their contracted hours.#
If you are absent from work due to sickness or injury for a continuous period of more than 12
months, you must return to work for a continuous period of three months before being eligible for
any payments of Company Sick Pay.
Stopping or withholding Sick Pay
We reserve the right to stop or withhold payment of sick pay under our Company Sick Pay scheme if:
- you have failed to comply with our sickness absence notification and evidence requirements;
- you refuse to attend a medical examination at the reasonable request of our organisation;
- your incapacity has been caused by participation in dangerous sports or activities, or is as a
- result of any other occupation you have;
- you make or produce any misleading or untrue statement or document concerning your
- fitness to work;
- you have given or received notice to terminate your employment; or
- disciplinary proceedings are pending against you.
Legacy Company Sick Pay
Those employed on a Canada Square Health & Fitness contract before October 2016 have a legacy
contract. Legacy contracts are entitled to the above CSP arrangement, but paid at 100% not 80%. All
other terms apply as per CSP. If in doubt, please refer to your employment contract.
